SERIES 91 ALUMINUM ADJUSTABLE PITCH FAN ASSEMBLY, TYPE BN SK-880-91 NOVEMBER, 1997

The Aluminum Adjustable Pitch Fan Assembly, Type BN, shall be manufactured by Hartzell Fan, Inc.®, Series 91. Standard sizes are 84" through 168". The propeller shall be packaged disassembled.

 

The BN propeller blades, of high efficiency airfoil design, shall be cast of 319 aluminum in compliance with Federal Specification QQ-A-601E and ASTM B26. The blades feature a retention groove which shall match a retention shoulder in the hub caps for proper blade location. The dynamically balanced hub shall be of welded steel construction with "drop-in" blade assembly and bolted steel cap blade retention. The hub shall be retained on the fan shaft utilizing a split taper bushing.

 

Standard rotation shall be right-hand or clockwise. Maximum standard construction operating temperature shall be 200° F. All blades shall have manually adjustable angles by loosening the cap bolts. The hubs are painted with heavy black enamel.

 

The propellers shall be manufactured in accordance with Hartzell's standard quality assurance procedures. Fan performance shall be obtained by testing exact scale models in Hartzell's AMCA accredited test laboratory in accordance with the latest revision of AMCA Standard 210 for air performance and AMCA Standard 300 for sound.
