SERIES 46 (CS PROP) BELT DRIVE DUCT AXIAL FAN, CORROSIVE RESISTANT, STEEL SK-880-46C NOVEMBER, 1997

The Belt Drive Duct Axial Fan, Corrosive Resistant, Steel shall be manufactured by Hartzell Fan, Inc.®, Series 46C. Standard sizes are 12" through 36". Fan can be supplied with or without a guide vane section. The addition of the guide vane section provides for the recovery of energy from the airstream and uses this energy to overcome additional airflow resistance without changing the fan RPM or motor horsepower.

The duct axial propeller shall be an airfoil design, 6-bladed, one piece construction of 304 stainless steel. Propellers shall be retained on the motor shaft with a straight bore. Fans shall be suitable for up to 200° F.

Fan housing shall be minimum 12 gauge rolled stainless steel, continuously welded in compliance with AWS D1.1 standard. All flanges have slotted mounting holes. Rigid motor mounts provide support for the motor.

Fan shafts shall be stainless steel. Bearings shall be located in a drive compartment on the negative pressure side of the propeller. Bearings shall be heavy duty, self-aligning ball or roller bearing type mounted in pillow block housings. Bearings shall have extended lube lines and shall be relubricable for continuous service. Minimum L-50 bearing life at maximum catalog speed, horsepower, and static pressure: 400,000 hours (horizontal). Minimum L-50 bearing life at maximum catalog speed, horsepower, and static pressure: 250,000 hours (vertical). Variable pitch drive sheave shall be standard on fans up through and including 10 HP, through 48" size. Fixed ptich drives standard on all 54" and 60" fans. Belts shall be "V" type, heat, oil and static resistant, and sized for continuous service.

The fan assembly shall be dynamically balanced at the Hartzell factory prior to shipping. Fans shall be balanced in accordance with AMCA Standard 204-96, fan application category BV-3 (comparable to Grade G6.3). Fans shall be manufactured in accordance with Hartzell's standard quality assurance procedures. Fan performance shall be based on tests conducted in Hartzell's AMCA accredited test laboratory in accordance with the latest revision of AMCA Standard 210 for air performance and AMCA Standard 300 for sound.
