The Belt Drive Duct Axial Fan, High Temperature, Steel shall be manufactured by Hartzell Fan, Inc.®, Series 46H. Standard sizes are 12" through 36". Fans can be supplied with or without a guide vane section. The addition of the guide vane section provides for the recovery of energy from the airstream and uses this energy to overcome additional airflow resistance without changing the fan RPM or motor horsepower.

The duct axial fan propeller shall be an airfoil design, 6-bladed, one piece construction of welded steel. Propellers shall be retained on the motor shaft with a split taper bushing. Propellers for the high temperature units shall be coated with an air-dry acrylic silicone gray finish as standard. Fans shall be suitable for up to 500° F.

Fan housing shall be minimum 12 gauge rolled commercial quality, carbon steel, continuously welded in compliance with AWS D1.1 standard. Standard surface coating system shall be phosphatized surface preparation with an industrial grade air dry enamel. All flanges have slotted mounting holes. Rigid motor mounts provide support for the motor.

Fan shafts shall be ground and polished carbon steel. Bearings shall be located in a drive compartment on the negative side of the propeller. Bearings shall be heavy duty, self-aligning ball or roller bearing type mounted in pillow block housings. Bearings shall have extended lube lines and shall be relubricable for continuous service. Minimum L-50 bearing life at maximum catalog speed, horsepower, and static pressure: 400,000 hours (horizontal). Minimum L-50 bearing life at maximum catalog speed, horsepower, and static pressure: 250,000 hours (vertical). Variable pitch drive sheaves shall be standard on fans up through and including 10 HP, through 48" size. Fixed ptich drives standard on all 54" and 60" fans. Belts shall be "V" type, heat, oil and static resistant and sized for continuous service.
