SERIES 69 BELT DRIVE UPBLAST ROOF VENTILATOR, STEEL SK-880-69 NOVEMBER, 1997

The Belt Drive Upblast Roof Ventilator, Steel shall be manufactured by Hartzell Fan, Inc.®, Series 69. Standard sizes are 12" through 84". The ventilators shall be packaged, pre-assembled units with 12" through 48" shipped in one piece and 54" through 84", the stack cap being shipped separately.

The duct fan propeller shall be an airfoil design, cast of 319 aluminum in compliance with Federal Specification QQ-A-601E and ASTM B26. Propellers shall be retained on the fan shaft utilizing a split taper bushing. Sizes 12" through 48" with 10 HP or 1800 RPM motor or smaller shall have self-formed flanges with slotted mounting holes. All others shall have rolled steel flanges. The motor shall be an open ended drip proof type, mounted on an adjustable motor base, that is out of the airstream. Motor base shall be slotted to permit changing motor sizes if ventilation requirements change.

Fan shafts shall be ground and polished carbon steel. Bearings shall be located in a drive compartment on the negative pressure side of the propeller, drawing outside ambient air in and over the belts and bearings. Bearings shall be heavy duty, self-aligning, ball or roller type; depending on fan size, motor horsepower, and performance. Bearings shall have extended lube tubes and be relubricable for continuous service and have a minimum L10 life of 50,000 hours. Variable pitch drive sheaves shall be standard on fans up through and including 10 HP.

Fan housing shall be minimum 12 gauge commercial quality, carbon steel continuously welded in compliance with AWS D1.1 standard. The stack cap shall be constructed of minimum 20 gauge painted galvanneal coated steel in sizes 12" through 60"; painted hot rolled 10 gauge steel, sizes 66" and larger. A rolled angle ring welded at the top of the windband is standard on sizes 66" and larger to provide additional support. Butterfly shutters open when the unit is on, close weather-tight when the unit is off. Curb mounting panel shall have a venturi orifice on sizes 12" through 60"; a flat curb panel on larger sizes.

The fan assembly shall by dynamically balanced at the Hartzell factory prior to shipping. Fans shall be balanced in accordance with AMCA Standard 204-96, fan application category BV-3 (comparable to Grade G6.3). Fans shall be manufactured in accordance with Hartzell's standard quality assurance procedures. Fan performance shall be based on tests conducted in Hartzell's AMCA accredited test laboratory in accordance with the latest revision of AMCA Standard 210 for air performance and AMCA Standard 300 for sound. Fans shall be licensed to bear the AMCA Certified Air and Sound Performance Rating Seal.
