SERIES 29B FIBERGLASS DIRECT DRIVE BIFURCATED DUCT AXIAL FAN SK-880-29B NOVEMBER, 1997
The Fiberglass Direct Drive Bifurcated Duct Axial Fan shall be manufactured by Hartzell Fan, Inc.®, Series 29B. Standard sizes are 24" through 48". The fan shall be packaged, completely assembled and ready to install.
The resin used shall be Ashland Hetron 693 or equal polyester resin which provides both corrosion resistance and flame retardant. Three percent antimony oxide shall be added to achieve a Class I flame spread rate of 25 or less per ASTM E84 tunnel test standards which is required by NFPA Code 91 for blower and exhaust systems and is OSHA approved. Construction shall conform to ASTM Standard D4167 for fiber reinforced plastic fans and blowers.
Propellers shall be airfoil design, 6 bladed one piece FRP construction with an aluminum insert molded into the hub for secure attachment to the shaft. The propeller shall not have an aerodynamic stall characteristic.
Fan housings shall be of fiberglass construction, including the flanges which shall have drilled mounting holes. A fiberglass motor mounting pod shall be mounted inside the fan housing to provide for direct drive fan operation and to streamline the airflow through the fan. Motor mounting hardware shall be austenitic stainless steel encapsulated with fiberglass. A neoprene shaft seal shall be used where the motor shaft extends through the motor pod. Fan shall be designed for mounting in any position.
Extended lube tubes and grease fittings shall be standard and motor housing shall be suitable for C face mounting.
The fan assembly shall be dynamically balanced at the Hartzell factory prior to shipping. Fans shall be balanced in accordance with AMCA Standard 204-96, fan application category BV-3 (comparable to Grade G6.3). Fans shall be manufactured in accordance with Hartzell's standard quality assurance procedures. Fan performance shall be based on tests conducted in Hartzell's AMCA accredited test laboratory and in accordance with AMCA Standard 210 for air performance and AMCA Standard 300 for sound.
